Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC will renew their rivalry when they meet in a much-anticipated Ghana Premier League clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium this weekend.The Porcupine Warriors have made an unbeaten start to the campaign under head coach Eric Tinkler and will be determined to maintain that run when they welcome Aduana to Kumasi.Kotoko have picked up one win and two draws from their opening three matches, scoring five goals in the process. However, their defensive record remains an area of concern, having conceded in each of their three games.Tinkler will be looking for his team to turn their unbeaten start into more victories, particularly on home soil, as Kotoko seek to build momentum in the early stages of the season.Aduana, meanwhile, arrive in Kumasi with renewed confidence after securing a 2-1 victory over Karela United in their last outing. The result ended a two-match winless and goalless run and gave Samuel Boadu’s side their first league victory of the campaign.The Fire Club have recorded one win, one draw and one defeat from their opening three matches, scoring twice and conceding twice. Their recent away form, however, will be tested against a Kotoko side that has generally enjoyed home advantage in this fixture.Boadu acknowledges the difficulty of playing Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium but believes Aduana can make the contest difficult for the hosts.Its a very crucial game as you can see the records between Asante Kotoko and Aduana. Playing away to Kotoko wont be an easy game, but we will make it easy, Boadu said.The Aduana coach says tactical discipline will be crucial if his side are to take something from the game.If the players stick to the game plan, I think it will help us. Our tactical approach, and we need to be composed when we get to the final third. And then the defensive structure and attacking balance, I think if we work on it properly it will help us to get the points over there.He also expects his players to adapt to whatever Kotoko offer during the game.Its very important because it depends on the opponent that were playing with. How we approach the game and everything, and were ready to encounter whatever they will bring on board.The recent head-to-head record suggests a closely contested encounter. The two clubs have met six times since March 2024, with Kotoko and Aduana each winning twice, while two matches ended in draws.Their most recent meeting, played on March 29, 2026, ended in a 0-0 draw.
